Welcome

Welcome to Southwood Elementary! I would like to welcome new and returning families to a great year at Southwood. Everyday we strive to accomplish our mission: “Inspiring a community of learners to discover and achieve their passion and potential.” Dream Big - Work Hard. At Southwood Elementary, our students and staff focus on 3 goals:

We have a well-experienced staff who loves their students and creates an excellent learning environment in which students receive a well-rounded education. Our focus is to see students improve in their academics, social/emotional development, character development, and citizenship. We also believe in the importance of extracurricular activities and how they are an extension of the classroom. Some of the extracurricular activities we offer are: Art shows/contests, Athletics, Battle of the Books, Math Bowl, Musical programs, Spell Bowl, and Robotics.
