Southwood Elementary offers one of the best preschool programs in the area, all while being one of the most cost-efficient! Children who will be ages 3 or 4 by August 1st of the school year are welcome to register.
Southwood Elementary has a strong focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math). STEAM focuses on logical thought processes and problem-solving allows students to develop mental habits that will help them succeed in any field.
We believe in providing our students growth and development opportunities outside of the classroom. SES students can begin finding their passions through an array of activities.
Learning happens in many ways! At Southwood Elementary, we aim to make lessons applicable to the student through a variety of hands-on experiences, both inside and outside of the classroom.
As a one-to-one school, Southwood Elementary students each receive a 7th generation iPad to assist in their learning. Our school is supported by an on-site tech assistant that can help both students and staff with day-to-day technology issues.
Next school year, Southwood Elementary will welcome a new leader. Mr. Casey Stouffer will be the new Principal of Southwood Elementary School beginning with the 2022-2023 school year.
The School Board has approved the 2021-2022 Re-Entry Plan, which discusses the goal to have no restrictions for students and staff when school resumes in August.
For the first time, MSD of Wabash County will be offering a Summer Food Program. The program will provide weekly meals free of charge for children ages 1-18 throughout the MSDWC area.
